Starbucks 2.0

I'm surprised it took Starbucks this long to experiment with spinoffs, but is the whole rustic thing really the right direction?

Reminds me of the J Crew Liquor Store. Potentially a smart move. Although they'd be better off dropping the "Inspired by Starbucks" part.

Are you sure those aren't photos from a Cracker Barrel?

This seems to fit with their re-discovering coffee initiative and/or a flight away from McD.

The move towards manual espresso is part of the story-I would also expect to see more usage of the 'clover' brewer in these shops. The decor might be a bit tacky, but they're shooting for a feeling of home/hand-made.

I love the spammers drive by link drops.

I like to think of it as "phoning it in" SEO.

I thought i heard they were going to experiment with selling booze/wine at these joints.

If so I can see why they would want to distance themselves from the mothership.

Right now Mickey D's is drinking their milkshake.
