Ratman

With a commenter name like "ratman," you would probably expect a lulz onslaught. But whoever is commenting on this site with that username (here, here, and here) is my favorite commenter in the world. They are such non sequiturs that at first I thought they were spam, but now I see it's some sort of crazy genius. I hope they all come together to form a story.

I vote for spam. Shrimp plate is a line from Repo Man, the other two are posted on Web site called Steep and Cheap . com. Ratman's just pasting junk in your comments.

Yep, I was just about to email Rex saying the same thing. Lulz.

As long as it's good junk, I like it!

but jesus, it's really mind-boggling stuff! like, who writes like that and just sends it to the spam bots? surely he could get a job writing in this town, no? or all we all spam bots and that's his message!?

I could go through all the posts I failed to ever mention and write a memory for each one. I could also compile a roll of honour and that might go some way to thanking the people who have helped us all along the way. And then I could spoil the effect (but redress the balance) by finishing off with a shit list of some of the cunts we've had to put up with. We need to stop trying to define who people really are and, well, look at how things fit together, like shrimp, or peas in a pod, or, and this is a stretch... peas and carrots.

Let's make ratman a cultural icon for our times. Let's deconstruct him. Bring on the Derrida. Or better yet, som Zizek.

It's high time the specter of seeing double got some column inches around here. Bravo, sir.

The brilliance of the non sequiturs escapes me. I am not the ratman!

Oh, I'll grant you it's good junk. His post in this thread opens with three sentences cribbed from Wreckless Eric's online tour diary from Oct. 14 -- that's excellent junk. The last sentence is harder to back-Google -- an original ratman?

ratman also posted his "Lions win extra trip to the salad bar" on SteapAndCheap.com:

http://www.steepandcheap.com/steepcheap/forum.html?bboard_id=1002567&page=3

Check out his other posts for more beatific holy goofiness.

I felt I could have written it. So, the fact that it was already written was kind of a technicality.
