Whenever I see Jeff Jarvis I think of Engywook from the Neverending Story. And on the rare occasion I read his site, the words take on Engywook's voice in my head. And when I finish I imagine him jumping around screaming "He did it! He did it!"

Jarvis was a fun read when he was practicing what he preaches -- you know, actually using the new media platform he's so excited about to do so reporting. Buzzmachine was great when he was using FOIA requests to make the FCC look dumb in the Janet Jackson censorship aftermath, and it was still pretty entertaining when he played the role of the Dell disgruntled customer from hell. But lately -- the last year or so -- he has been in endless pontification mode. It seems like he's stuck in 2004, making those same arguments, while the industry is fitfully churning forward. Now its rare that I actually stop and read his posts when I'm skimming through them in my reader.
