No offense, Rex, but how could you possibly know that writing a feature for Wired is unlike anything else in publishing? Do you honestly want me to believe that you have enough experience in this field to know what you're talking about? Your blog is hyperbole-central.

Hi. Samir here. I know you've been doing pieces for Wired for a few years. That doesn't necessarily make you George Plimpton. I have a strong feeling that there are tasks and stories and processes that take place in the world of publishing that are quite a lot like your experience at Wired. Samir, I think maybe you should read the blog, and then maybe ask some people who write for other magazines for comparisons of processes. I talk to writers all the time, and they all note the rigorous process of writing for Wired.
