Doveman Footloose
Some dude does an emo version of the entire Footloose soundtrack, which includes a sad story and a completely new perspective of the '80s.

Rex, you realize this "some dude", Doveman, is the guy that is currently playing keyboards for Grizzly Bear (check out the Letterman performance a week or two ago) and he's toured with The National, Martha Wainwright, David Byrne, etc. Granted it's a little emo for my tastes, but I'd hardly say Doveman is some random guy : )

I went to high school with him and Gabe Greenberg. Actually good friends with Gabe. <br /><br /> <br /><br /> Been meaning to listen to this, so thanks for the reminder.
