Can we vote for no more Diablo Cody stories? :(

I agree. I mean, are you sure we can afford to divert any of our julia allison resources right now?

I mean, I realize that we're too "incestuous" to add anything from up here in the Emerald City anyway. (Shakes head. Turns country music station up.)

I am Jonny's 5th wife.

Jonny's a lover. I've never been married, so he's making up for people like me.

I am from Minneapolis, which probably makes me more tired of hearing about her than most!

Not only do we all know each other, we're all related and have been have intimate encounters for years. Smooch Smooch Max.

My favorite part of the morning is the kisses from TaulPaul. That's probably why we're all so steamed at Diablo. We used to all wake up in the same bed on our hippie farming collective, watch Steve and Sharon, hug for a while, and then head out to gather the honey or make seed art. Now there is a place in our giant bed that Diablo used to fill, and she's gone, she's gone.

You could chase her to LA, ya know. There's already a couple Minnesotans on her coattails there...
posted by Rex at 2008-03-14 11:31:16 ![]()
Uh-oh. All the other non-Minneapolis posts are all cool and laconic with "0" or "1" comments. I think we're breachin' some kinda New York etiquette here by carin' so much, everybody. So can we all please shut up? God, why am I always stuck with you rubes? You're always embarrassin' me. I hate you, Minneapolis. I hate you.

Is there a market for seed art in LA?
posted by Max "Bunny" Sparber at 2008-03-14 11:39:44 ![]()
Wait, what? Which Minneasotans are on Diablo's coattails? I can make coffee too! And my license is valid. I have good White Bear Lake-taste--I can pick out animal prints on Rodeo.

Who are these people, Rex? Gimme names.

Hey, I'm just glad we're all still alive. When Melinda Jacobs got a blog, I thought the universe was going to implode, fo sho.

I thought Marisa's pilgrimage pre-dated Brooke's.

I'm not naming names... nor am I begrudging them...

(I also hear a rumor about who she's dating now and I'm not telling that either! Hahaha, I believe in secrecy still... how quaint!)

posted by Rex at 2008-03-14 11:46:24 ![]()
Who is Melinda Jacobs? The only person I care about is someone named Sarah Lacey. You know, like normal people.

Oh, whatever, Rex. I am so twittering you right now.

I think we should come here every Friday, and take over...you know...to help Rex remember the little people.
posted by taulpaul at 2008-03-14 11:51:03 ![]()
Deep down, Rex knows we're still the cool kids. I mean, if the Gawker people are cool for being "outside the establishment," how much more outside can you get than us?

Minneapolis, I'd like to sing you a song: Du du du du du du dudu, I don't see what anyone can see, In anyone else but you.
posted by stephenhero at 2008-03-14 11:56:29 ![]()
Deep down? C'mon, I'm Minneapolis' greatest propagandist! I'm still on a mission to get Melissa and Chuck and all the other expats to move back and take over a bar or something. Or maybe we'll buy The Rake. Hahahaha!

(Steve, I have no idea why you're not a NYC blogger. Seriously, your style is better than most of these coasties...)

Really? Really?!? (Clasps hands together like Minnesota's own Judy Garland.) Why do you think I've been trying so hard on this thread? I'll tell you why: I've been hoping Nick Denton will see this, swoop me up, hand me $25,000 and put me in a bikini in Williamsburg by this weekend!

Hopefully Sunday, so I can see the Faux Jean reunion first.

Everybody in Minneapolis and New York should switch places for a couple of years. Of course, then the people in Minneapolis will start behaving like there is no world outside Minneapolis, and everybody in New York will wonder why they can't be as cool as the people in Minneapolis.

Do they have Culvers in NY. Then maybe.
posted by taulpaul at 2008-03-14 12:21:38 ![]()
Culvers is a Wisconsin thing, Paul. Don't blow this thread for us with your bullshit Midwestern self-deprecating humor.
posted by stephenhero at 2008-03-14 12:24:28 ![]()
Culvers does make a hell of a root beer, though.

You have to admit this post is getting way more action than the Torture Puppy post.

Denton won't want you unless you wax "down there".

Entertaining family, blogging, maybe hitting up the gospel brunch with richg, making seed art.

Sounds fun. We're heading to soundBar tonight, then a CD release party for a friend tomorrow. Finally, the adults get to go out and have fun.

This is nice, Paul; we don't say hi to each other enough. We should wing by Rex's blog all the time to just catch up.
