It's a good, balanced article, but the bit about whiteness no longer being normative bugs me. I live in a city of 3 million where visible minorities now outnumber 'whites', but there's no way in hell you could say that 'white culture' isn't still the privileged norm in the media and other forms of public discourse. And isn't the relative comfort of being white precisely what makes a blog like this work? i.e. That there's no real threat behind it?
