Fox has a new game show coming out that pits contestants against a lie-detector test. For the first time ever, I want to be on a game show.

What if you went on the show and they asked you (while wired to the machine) if you'd ever wanted to be on a game show before?

Lie detectors are as accurate as flipping coins (or the old methods of dunking someone in the water or having them walk across burning coals). Lie detectors work as an interrogation tool only because many defendants believe they are accurate. Scientifically, they are hooey.
