Really great Vulture post about how the soundtrack for Terry Gilliam's Brazil seems to be popping up in every movie trailer lately.

or rather, the song "brazil" keeps popping up. (copyright 1939) i don't hear the movie when i hear that song, i hear the frank sinatra bossanova version.<br /><br /> <br /><br /> the one that drives me nuts is whatever that song is from "requiem for a dream" that is in every third movie trailer from the last 5 years.

Argh. I saw it in the Visa commercial and was also puzzled. I can't help but picture those disturbing baby masks from the very end...is that really something they want to be associated with?<br /><br /> <br /><br /> Also strange is the recent Target ad using the tagline "Brave New Dorm". What is it with this recent "repurposing" of dystopian themes?
