Last.FM

Whoa, didn't see this one coming: CBS Acquires Last.fm for $280 Million. Except I did see it coming! Check out my 30 Predictions for 2007 in Media/Tech/Pop (written in December) which says "23) CBS. The digital unit will make a few acquisitions that seem peculiar." Money.

CBS <a href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/05/13/cbs-acquires-wallstrip-for-5-million/" target="_blank">also acquired</a> the video blog WallStrip earlier this month.

I know this is optimistic, but maybe they'll clean last.fm up a bit - I'm a relatively new user, and even I can see that they're just cramming too much onto one page. <br /><br /> <br /><br /> Also - just because you were right, doesn't mean it's not gloating. ;)

But you weren't quite right were you? You also predicted the following: "<a href="http://www.fimoculous.com/archive/post-1921.cfm" target="_blank">Apple buys Last.FM</a>"<br /><br /> <br /><br /> PS: I signed up with last.fm at the beta stage but didn't stick with it - too much and too little going on at the same time (though I did find an excellent playlist by a user from Japan). I predict CBS has an uphill climb ahead.
